Legal Status
The Menkes International Association (MIA) is a non-profit organisation established in 2020 under Spanish Law 1/2002 on Associations. It is certified by the official registry of Associations in Spain and operates within the European Union's legal and data protection framework.
Transparency
MIA publishes its governance documents and financial reports. All activities are carried out in the open and with accountability to our members and the communities we serve.
Scientific Integrity
All research access to patient data requires approval by the MIA Scientific Committee. We apply state-of-the-art security measures and enforce contractual data-use agreements.
Volunteer-Led
MIA operates entirely on a volunteer basis. No executive or board member receives remuneration. Resources are directed exclusively to research, families and awareness.
Legal Compliance
Registered under Spanish Law 1/2002 and certified by the official registry of Associations in Spain. All data processing complies with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
